Our Departments

Our D.Pharma programme is structured across six core departments, each contributing to a comprehensive pharmacy education.

Pharmaceutics

The science of preparing and dispensing drugs. Covers dosage forms, drug formulation, packaging, and quality control for pharmaceutical products.

Pharmaceutical Chemistry

Study of chemical structure, properties, and interactions of pharmaceutical substances including organic, inorganic, and analytical chemistry of drugs.

Pharmacognosy

The study of drugs derived from natural sources. Covers identification, extraction, and therapeutic uses of natural products from plants, animals, and minerals.

Pharmacology

Study of drug action on biological systems including mechanisms of action, therapeutic uses, adverse effects, and toxicology of pharmaceutical agents.

Hospital & Clinical Pharmacy

Prepares students for clinical practice settings including hospital dispensing, patient counselling, drug information services, and clinical pharmacy activities.

Biochemistry

Explores chemical processes within living organisms. Covers metabolism, enzymes, hormones, and clinical pathology relevant to pharmaceutical care.
